These hydraulic cylinders can be used as halyard tensioners, stay tensioners and as boomvangs. On super and megayachts they are at almost always connected to the central hydraulic system.
The hydraulic stay tensioners are delivered as standard in highly polished stainless steel finish.

HYDROMAR produces more than just cylinders for rigging. We have engineered and produced a specialised mechanical stay tensioner. The unique part of this HYDROMAR tensioning system is that it is completely mounted below deck, integrated into the yacht's interior. Mounting and tensioning of the stay can be done from above deck where mounting space is available. The result is an uncluttered deck with only a highly polished mounting flange visible.
These tensioners are available for V1 and D1 stays.

Hydraulic cylinders have been a part of the Hydromar production program for more than 40 years. A logical extension of our production program for the yachting industry is a specialised program of hydraulic cylinders for rigging purposes on board sailing yachts.

The hydraulic cylinder range HSC (Hydromar Stay Cylinder) can be used as a standard backstay tensioner. The smaller types are often used as halyard tensioners and flatteners.
All HSC tensioning cylinders are available with an attractively designed mechanical locking device.

The HBC (Hydromar Boom Cylinder) has a range of hydraulic boomvangs in single or double acting versions.

For in-boom furling a special version has been developed allowing optimal furling position without the use of electronics. Many furling boom suppliers are currently using the HYDROMAR duplex double acting boomvang. All components form a standard range.

On request we can produce a custom version to the customer's specific requirements.
A good example of this is the option for internal hydraulic connections on the bottom of the hydraulic stay tensioner.
